About Us

The key function of the Brookhaven Business Advisory Council (“BBAC”) is to assist Town government by disseminating information to and from the business community. It also helps compile information on businesses in Brookhaven Town, and develops and implements public information programs to educate the business community regarding outreach programs and available assistance. The BBAC serves as a liaison to the Supervisor and Town Board, and is comprised of business owners and professionals who serve on a volunteer basis.

The Brookhaven IDA has the authority to issue tax-exempt and taxable bonds and notes.
It can also grant property tax abatements, mortgage recording tax exemption, and full sales tax exemption
The IDA has issued over $150 million in tax-exempt or taxable bonds on behalf of more than 50 companies
